Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) assesses duty and taxes on international packages arriving in Canada. Canada Post collects these fees on behalf of the Government of Canada.
There is a $9.95 handling fee included in the amount owing. This fee is in line with the government’s efforts to help recover costs from those who benefit from these services and is similar to arrangements in other countries.
